I am so happy to share the news that the first book from The Simple Abundance Press is being released on October 1, 2008. When Every Day Matters, A Mother's Memoir on Love, Loss and Life is a poignant journey taken by Mary Jane Hurley Brant in the first year after the death of her beloved daughter, Katie Brant.
Simple Abundance Press is a small boutique publisher with the goal to stand behind important stories that should be told. MJ gives a voice to a world that is silent because we are uncomfortable and do not know how to comfort those who have lost a loved one. Whether by death from a disease, murder, a drunk driver, war, or even a loved one's own hand, those that are left behind are in a void of unanswered questions. After a death, we tend to give the grieving family the silent treatment, afraid to bring up the pain and not knowing what will comfort them. MJ's shows us through her raw and always authentic voice that it's okay to talk to your friends and family and teaches us how. She shares her truths about how the death of a child is really the death of the family and to go own, the survivors need to be reborn as a new family..
